Questions people argue about
Straight answers before you spend.
Does mmHg actually matter on compression socks?
Yes — it's the one number that tells you what the sock actually does. 15-20 mmHg is the everyday range for tired legs and travel; 20-30 mmHg is firm; 30-40 mmHg is usually worn on a clinician's advice. A sock with no mmHg printed on it is a tight tube sock, not compression.
Is shapewear supposed to hurt to work?
No. Real support comes from panel placement and graduated compression across the garment, not from squeezing everything as hard as possible. If it leaves deep marks or you can't sit in it for an hour, it's the wrong size, not a stronger effect.
When can I wear a binder after a C-section?
When your provider clears it, which for many people is somewhere around two to four weeks. Before that, anything worn should sit low and gentle and never press on the incision. A binder supports you while you move; it does not speed up recovery or change your shape once it comes off.
Do men's compression garments need to be different from women's?
Yes, structurally — panel placement, rise, and where the compression is graduated differ because the build and the use case differ (recovery and workouts vs. shapewear and support). A relabeled women's cut doesn't fit or compress the same way on a man's body.
